Hiked up to the now closed up Lead Mine at the base of Mummy Mountain this afternoon and got a good view of the Rainbow Canyon area with the Carpenter Canyon Burn area just behind it. It’s a good perspective of just how close the fire got to the community.

Loved the clouds over the peaks and you can start to see the Aspen leaves starting to turn.

The gold plaque is the Mine claim, I have no idea how long that is been there. It was an old Lead Mine, my guess is they were hoping to find Silver alongside the Lead!

I took my 8 year old on his first fairly long hike and through a few mumbles and grumbles, on the way down I asked him if he had a good time. He said, “No, I had a great time”! So I’m hoping to get back up exploring the hills soon!
